It looks like Montgomery County Republican candidates for state office are raising a lot more money than Democrats for the same offices. I’ve been looking at a web-site called “Follow the Money.” It is sponsored by The National Institute on Money in State Politics which calls itself, “the only nonpartisan, nonprofit organization revealing the influence of campaign money on state-level elections and public policy in all 50 states,” and advertises itself as, “The Nation’s Most Complete Resource for Information on Money in State Politics.”
Montgomery County this November will elect five State House Representatives and one State Senator. Here is what I found at “Follow the Money.”

Miller Valentine and Oberer stand to benefit from Austin Road.
Greentree Group is a contractor on a defense program that Turner earmarked.
Is SlectTech a defense contractor, too?
For Terry Blair, his big donors are developers. Gunlock is a principle in RG Properties, who is active in the Austin Road/Social Row/US 48 area.
Oakes is the principle of Design Homes.
Thanks for the info. It would be interesting to do a thorough analysis of the background of big contributors. And, I need to study the rules about political contributions — I’m surprised that individuals are permitted to give such large sums.
I found SelectTech’s web-site http://www.selecttechservices.com/
This is the web-site’s description of their business: “SelectTech provides best of breed management, engineering, technical and information technology services to serve a variety of customers in the aerospace industry and across the Department of Defense. Select Tech only succeeds when our customers succeed.”
