Just curious… do you write any original content on this blog? It’s enough that nine of ten posts are simply a link to an external article or an embedded video, but even when you choose to offer “original” commentary, you simply rely on tired analogies. Comparing your opponents to Hitler and/or the Nazi party is lazy and superficial. If that’s the most creative you can get with your analysis, maybe it’s best to stick with videos and hyperlinks.
And limiting your “cult mentality” tag to just Obama supporters is ridiculous… supporters of Obama AND McCain are equally guilty.
My response:
1) I write original commentary when I see fit or when I think something is missing from the local blogosphere that needs to be given airtime. I used to write more because I had more time and will try to get back on topic in the future.
2) I’ve always thought of this blog as a clearinghouse for things that were on my mind or things that I saw/read/heard. I’m not arrogant enough to think my opinions are worth much to anyone but me. We all have our own experiences from which to draw our opinions. Mine are no more worthy than anyone else’s.
3) Jennifer’s second half of her comment was dedicated to the “cult mentality” of political supporters. She said that limiting my “cult mentality” tab to just Obama supporters is ridiculous because McCain supporters are equally guilty. This is flatly untrue. Obama has the herd vote almost completely in his corner. He is the cool, popular guy to support. Even Paris Hilton only knows McCain as the wrinkly, white-haired guy. Now, recently I’ve devoted a lot of blog space to John McCain coming because he was making a major announcement here and I knew there would be a lot of people trying to learn more about the event and I thought For the Love of Dayton would be a good place for the average internet searcher to go to find out stuff about the event, McCain, and maybe other things about Dayton.
As I was perusing Books & Co. at Town & Country the other day, I saw a children’s book titled BARACK OBAMA: Son of Promise, Child of Hope which has its creepiness quoted HERE and HERE.
Or how about the Greek Temple at Invesco Field where Barack Apollo Obama accepted his party’s nomination? More on the “Temple of Obama” here.
Jennifer was unhappy that I compared Obama’s acceptance speech in front of 80,000 devotees/concert goers to a Hitler rally…oh well, she’ll get over that one. Maybe this will help:
Or Spike Lee saying that we can tell time as BB (before Barack) or AB (after Barack)?

The imagery used by the campaign reminds me of Communist propaganda.
His own Presidential Seal? A little conceited?

All those photos prove is that Obama’s photographers can recognize a good gimmick when they see one.
