As the board of election in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, where Cleveland is located, launches an investigation into illegal crossover voting in the state’s 2008 presidential primary, a big open question remains unanswered: Will county officials go after the ringleaders of apparently illegal electioneering where thousands of Republican voters swore — under penalty of law — allegiance to the Democratic Party in order to vote for Hillary Clinton?
In case you missed it, Rush Limbaugh, the nation’s top-rated talk radio host, was urging Republicans in Texas and Ohio to skip their party’s primary on March 4 and instead cast a vote for Hillary Clinton in order to prolong the fight between her and Barack Obama. And that Tuesday, as media in both states reported, thousands of Republicans did just what Limbaugh and others had suggested — they changed parties to vote for Clinton.

Such a suggestion is absolutely preposterous and partisan. The Obama campaign put out automated telephone calls asking all, Democrats, Republicans, and Independents to ask for a Democrat ballot and vote for him. OK, DaytonOS, should Obama be indicted? Of course not and neither should Limbaugh.
Welcome to America or the CCCP where there are so many laws that everyone is a criminal.
It is simple, Rush tapped into the underlying Racism of the “typical white” voter that Bill Clinton got initiated after the South Carolina primary win by Obama. Mc Cain and Clinton will let the Right Wing Fascists of the airwaves, Savage, Hannity and Limbaugh do the dirty work, while they stand mute. They are called Politcians and they accurately reflect what the majority thinks.
Y’know, perhaps there is a cause for fraud charges here–but not against Limbaugh or Obama, but against individual voters.
If someone is technically an independent, I can’t argue against a declaration of supporting Republicans one time, Democrats the next. However, if anyone who is a dues-paid, card-carrying member of any political party asked for the other party’s ballot, then I’d say that constitutes fraud.
The parties should be required to provide their paid members rosters to the board of elections, who would cross-check those lists. Anyone on those lists who requested the other party’s ballot should be forced to resign from the original party and pay dues to the other one, or be charged with election fraud.
Yeah, that oughtta do it.
No-one is a dues paying, card-carrying member of a political party. You declare your affiliation when you register to vote..no one charges you dues or issues you a membership card if you choose “D” or “R”.
I think they should indeed try to prosecute Limbaugh…. that is only if they also take away all the tax exempt status of every church that told its voters which candidate to vote for and had a politician speak to the congregation prior to an election.
And when they are done with all those churches, they can prosecute all the democrats who have been cross-over voting for years to change the course of elections. They can prosecute the judges in every state who played havoc with election politics and all the aldermen in Chicago who manufactured votes for Daley and the Democratic party. Yeah, please prosecute Limbaugh. Let’s have a party.
“and all the aldermen in Chicago who manufactured votes for Daley and the Democratic party.”
You must be talking about the Richard Daley who died back in the 1970s. The aldermen of that area are probably just as dead, or in old folks homes.
Jeffrey, are you daft? Of COURSE there are dues-paid members of political parties. What, you think Mark Owens and Karl Keith and Dennis Lieberman and John Boehner and John Husted don’t pay dues to their respective parties? You need to educate yourself, everyone makes mistakes but this statement from you is so fundamentally wrong as to be embarrassing.
